Because my work (and coils) are usually of such a small scale, I can quite conveniently combine my working and sleeping areas. I keep my stuff in component compartment boxes in milkcrates under my bed. How about you guys?

Right now, my room has literally bout about 5ft^2 of clean floor space (under my desk tongue ), everywhere else is convered in something.

On the north wall there are bookshelves full of little drawers of junk (most of them were donated by my grand parents that get them at the swap meet in Las Vegas when an electronics repair guy goes broke and has to sell his stuff off...), and boxes stacked on top of those each containing parts of an unfinished project waiting to be scavenged for something else. There is also a small closet that is stacked about 5' tall with camping gear on one side, and on the other has a bookshelf with all of my optical alignment stuff. On the south wall is a dresser full of clothes, and on top of it there is my high power laser diode stuff (100a power supply, stereo microscope, watercooling setup, stack of laser diodes) as well as my computer (the Link2 server). On the east wall we have drawers full of more junk (man, I never throw stuff away....) and a bookshelf that actually has books in it. And on the west wall there is my bed and another set of shelves that I store my test gear on. And then the floor is covered with boxes, clothes, trash, wires, etc.

It is particularly bad atm, as I was working on the RGB laser in all of my free time, (trying to find someone to machine the aluminum I need right now), but then I decided that it would be in my best interest to study for the SAT (tomorrow dead ) and put everything on hold for a little while. Hopefully it will look something that I can post a picture of by mid next week...

This is my crib, it's also the biggest room I've ever had. Bed in one corner, lab in other and computer in between.

It's quite cool and kind of weird in a way seeing pics of peoples workstations around the world with 4hv loaded cheesey

Here's my room... not much evidence of any geeky hobbies really, although it has been through a couple of phases in the last few years. When I redecorated, everything moved into the garage (you don't want to see how messy it is in there, but I can post a pic if anyone wants!)

My room is a cramped but longish finished-off section of the attic. Here's a picture of my bookcase. I'll get some pictures of my computer area, but I'm not sharing the rest of the room. It's a mess.

Most of those books were given to me. Programming in Perl and K&R C are the only two that I bought.
[edit] Oh yeah, I bought The Unix Programming Enviornment as well.

I've have that very same book - the thin green radio shack one - to the right of the two identical IEEE electronics books in my pic cheesey

My room's a bit of a mess too, but I don't mind it that way.

Yup, that was a good book, as were the Engineer's Mini-Notebooks by the same author.
