Very well constructed coil. Straightforward without philosophy, and yet great arcs.
Hazmatt: I thought that copper losses are completely insignificant to spark gap loss. Lower f0 would allow use of much higher Q primary tank; so secondary should be wound with thinnest practical wire, and be smallest possible for what max spark length allows it.

Marko, that's not exactly true. Everything is a fine balance especially if you're looking at the Q/unit volume, Rac as well as Rdc, and the Qsec/Qpri ratios. This is what I'm evaluating for and for a 4" coil or 6" coil, the losses are least at the range I specified.
I already wound a 4" coil with 26 awg to 1600T+ and it failed to perform as well as my 4" with 23 awg. I'm doing more research into this now, but everything is a fine balance if you want maximum spark length.
