HI, Totally agree with dan being a builder of halfbridge coils. however i dont see why you need 2 transformers? Unless you mean to drive big devices like the hgt1n40n60a4d. cheers colin

My little coil uses a halfbridge of 30n60s. The general consensus is, for your first DRSSTC shoot for as low a frequency as you can and use a halfbridge.

Well hope IXSH40N60 will be enough, I could have used thinner wire and lower the frequency to maybe 200khz, but its done now.
What im afraid that my secondary will arc to primary, so i must not use too many turns (rather biger mmc, about 60 -70nF is OK) and 6 turn copper pipe primary. I calculated this is around 300khz, as TCCAD says for secondary (wintesla doesnt support my gauge) so primary is done too. I must be sure not to get out of resonant frequency
ALso I intend tu build primary feedback driver, there i'l probably need help.

Hi Firkragg, Honestly dont worry about 300KHz I ran 2 of my 3 drsstc at this or above without taking any special precautions As far as feedback i would go with secondary base current feedback to begin with as you wont need current limiting if your careful. The primary sounds fine also. Cheers Colin

If you do get primary to secondary acrs, just reduce K until it doesnt happen any more. I had severe racing sparks until I fixed the couling issue. My little coil uses quite low coupling.

Coupling will not be high, primary will be about 3 cm away from secondary and il try to use fewest windings possible. But im scared to blow up my igbts...

You more than likely will blow them up at least once. Not being harsh, but its just a matter of fact. I don't think anyone here has built their first DRSSTC without blowing a few pieces of silicon . . .

You can use first lower input voltage, until you are sure that all the problems are gone. Monitorise gate signals, temperature of the IGBTs, regulators and driver chips, noise problems with your interrupter, heat dissipation in your primary caps, output, pri-sec breakdowns, res frequency variation, etc.

Here is the bridge, in most simple mode. Probably I should use more pšrotection circuits. For feedback current transformer in series with primary will be used. Maybe caps are not large enough, they are about half (in joules) than steve ward's mini DRSSTC schematic ??

You should have some gate resistance in series with the gates, otherwise you may have some oscillation problems at the gates. Typically, a small resistor is used and then you can use an opposing diode in parallel to help with turn-off.
