What if you've already reached your potential? You might actually be living life to the max right now, and it might still suck.

Reasons to build Tesla coils:
  • You like the noise and the look of the sparks
  • You want to be 1337
  • You need a huge phallic symbol to compensate for something
  • People pay you to build them
  • God forbid, you actually want to learn about electrical engineering by means of hands-on experiments

My new year's resolutions:
  • See how long I can manage without a car, since my car failed its MOT and had to be scrapped.
  • Spend less time messing around on forums and stuff, same as Avalanche, or at least learn to manage it. I find it tricky because I use the net heavily for work as well as leisure.
  • Get my goofy nerd teeth fixed
  • Become the 4hv counsellor for threads disturbed by Simon's brutal moderating

I'm guessing MOT has a different meaning here. I can't think of what a MOT would do in a car, except maybe kill carjackers. Incidentally I'll be doing the same since I don't want to give up half my salary for a car(and public transport is a viable option now).

If you fix your teeth will you still be British? wink

I'll resolve not to be an all-feared 4hv moderator. And to learn dutch(or at least numbers).

haha, I was the opposite when I first joined 4hv, and I couldn't figure out what people meant when they said they needed an MOT for their coil. I thought at first it was just some ongoing forum joke that I had missed cheesey

MOT here means Ministry of Transport (test), but I'll admit I just had to look that one up tongue

  • learn english

  • learn to use internet

  • learn basics of electronics

  • Post less nonsense on 4hv

  • Stop anoying people with my posts

  • Finish some projects, if I ever get to it.

  • Clean my room (very unlikely)

ps. learn to arrange these lists properly?

duh.

I can't think of what a MOT would do in a car

- Inbuilt deluxe microwave oven
- supply for a tesla coil in car
- igniter for hidden potato cannons
- capacitor charger for hidden electromagnetic ejector seat
- etc.

It's the Ministry Of Transport annual test that your car has to have, to prove that it's safe to drive. Or not sad A lot of countries have a similar thing, they just call it different names. My car would have needed over £300 of work to pass, and it was only worth about £250...

Firkragg, when I get my next car, I want Tokyo Drift Power and a hidden potato cannons :P

Ben: No, the Queen will take my UK citizenship off me as soon as the brace comes off.

-to go to a teslathon...old dream..
-stop vegetating in my room, throwing away the paper and the pencil and get a real life...

"I resolve to 207.5.193.50."

What about 127.0.0.1 ? It seems like a matter of perspective.

I resolve to try not to accidentally dissolve part of my cellphone with acid again.
