Indeed.. if just buck converters would offer that ^_^ Soft turn on for the low side is all you get if you have a large enough dead time. And even thats not there in a Class-D like situation.
Not sure what the above topology actually is... the transformer messes up my head. The mosfets are sychronous rectification... but what kind of signal is fed into the transformer through L3? Linas tell us! Where do you get it from?

OK so you want efficiency todays electronics bring that in around 250kHz max to do easily.
reasons core material for inductors becomes more lossy. switching loss is going up exponentially.
so unless you are prepared to go with aircored transformers / inductive components you will stay at or below what I have quoted.
yes losses go down with increasing voltage to a point where snubbing losses start to get you. Generally max efficient power transfer at 1:4, 4:1 ratio max in to out voltage ratio. I cannot see why you do not want pwm drive to your servomotor. getting the PWM frequency right to the power level / motor construction is paramount. Most PWm drives use lower fequencies to stop interwinding capacitance spoiling the parade with silicon smoke.
Take a careful look at Keithleys 4 quadrant operational powersupplies----they have some very good info on their site

I know that, solving one problem leads to another.
This topology should be capable ZVS, so going for higher voltage ( so far thinking only about 310V input) should make it efficient. And in the end, i don't give af for heat, if that can be taked from fet with water cooling . I only care about pure sinus driver with high power output that is robust and can take a beating.
