The voltage nodes will be unpredictable.
A way to see what happens is to put it in a dark
room, camera open shutter..

I say this because I have seen sparks jump across steel casings of precipitators.
If I was safety officer on-set I would stop you, and tell special effects to recreate the stunt.

And 2.5 kV is low for an e fence. Most of our product put out 8kV, except for the big bastard I designed, which would do 10kV. And that's into a 500 Ohm load too. These farmers are really tough.
