more progress :
the transformer core seen with the all-thread studs epoxied on the sides.
Pic credit: Uzzors2k Im going to use this common bootstrap power circuit to provide initial power up instead of adding a class 2 tiny 60hz transformer. Ive never used a bootstrap method before, so im looking at it carefully and the requirements of the PWM IC's turn on requirements.

It runs off 20 VDC for now. though a simple mod of a cap bank and bridge rectifier convert it to 120 VAC. It has a green LED for power applied, and a red LED for power good on the logic side. so far the logic supply will use the LM317 regulator at 12.62 volts for the protoype, eventually moving to the bootstrap method.

ok ive got the PWM (UC28025) IC working, ehh sort of. its a little unstable at moments, and my probes refuse to calibrate and one is making a little cracking noise when i turn it. so im buying new ones.
Be that as it may here are the pics.
Its also running at 47 kHz so ill need to make some tuning changes. The output responds from 1uS on to 10.7 uS when the Verr pin is altered.
