Yes, the consequences are hard to swallow . When I first started to think about this, it wasn't the weirdness of entanglement, but the special role of the observer in QM. I just can't see, why the observer himself should not be treated as a quantum mechanical entity. As a result, one has to put up with superposed observers or superposed live and dead cats, but gains the advantage of not having to worry about how collapse occurs or FTL communication between over distances entangled particles.
