Not really. Digital cameras are now approaching the the same resolution of their equivalents on film. For example, a very high quality, slow film has an effective resolution of around 25Megapixels. Some of the newest DSLRs with full-frame sensors are very closely approaching that. There are also large format digital cameras which are rated at 500Megapixel, again quite close to similar sized large format film cameras.
We are at the point where digital technology can capture the same amount of resolution as the of the best slow speed film for a given sensor / film size. Digital will certainly exceed the resolution of film, but at that point, the limiting factor will be the glass in the lenses themself, which tops out about where the maximum resolution of film is right now.
