Some of it's ok, if you don't mind real plain basic stuff

I have a tall cheapo bookcase I bought from there, and 3 years later it's still standing holding several kg's of programming and electronics books. I think the key is - don't try and move it cheesey

Ikea used to be ok, if you don't mind the plain look.
But now everything is made in china...

My bookcases are office surplus, inch thick hardwood bookcase, score!

I've had my sofa for 2 years and it's still OK... Actually when I think about it, around half the furniture in here is Ikea, and I don't feel the urge to beat anyone up.

I bet you've never moved. Anyhow I haven't seen any survive a move. This past move I junked the old furniture and got a bed, dresser, desk and couch off of craigslist. Most was free. I paid $50 for the bed. It is all much higher quality than ikea too.

My mum and dad had a bunch of Ikea furniture, including some pretty flimsy looking wardrobes, but none of it broke when they moved. The stuff is really popular here for some reason, could be something to do with the huge Ikea mega store about 2 miles from my house. I like it _because_ it's cheap and plain looking, and sort of works all right, so meh.

(I also bought a copy of XP for the same reasons. It's nothing special but it gets the job done.)

BTW, Avalanche, as far as I can tell those Ikea batteries suck big time, they only seem to last a third as long as a Duracell or whatever.
