The calculations we have seen in this thread should be reconsidered:

The ratio of R1:R2 has been correctly set at 45:1 recommended by Centronics.

The starting voltage Vs for ZP1200 is 325V. The supply voltage is 500V

Then Vpulse = (Vsupply - Vs)/45 = (500 - 325)/45 = 3.9V.*

In practice, it will be slightly higher than this - say 5V.



Is it possible, Pinkamena, that you have a x10 multiplier set on your scope, or other error?

That was the first thing I checked. The oscilloscope was properly set up and calibrated against a few known voltages and frequencies.
