Well I've heard that when going above 36vdc or so, do not use zeners, they wont handle the powers, so I use another supply for gate drive which is better.

platinum I think 15k resistors would work fine, but you should stay away from IGBTs for ZVS drivers, because they handle volts much better than lots of amps that a ZVS will need.

How about the saturation of the transformer core ??
The saturation of the main transforner core is required to provide the proper semiconductor switching. This requires high current from the semiconductors .
However, the main transformer may be replaced by two transformers:
One transformer, Tx, with same size and windings as the original Mazzili tx. Its funtion is coupling the anodes to the output. The primary has turns enough to avoid saturation. ( Tx does not saturates).
Other, very small core transfomer, Td, to provide drive to the semiconductor gates. It receives the signal from the output tx and saturates to provide the switching. As the drive Td is very small, it saturates with very small current, so very low energy is required to run the ckt.
and a resistor coupling the output tx to the drive transformer...

Also, the power factor of a properly functioning CFPR converter (as is the Mazzilli driver) is very close to 1, so the power loss in the transistors is the lowest possible for a given operating condition.
