Okay, first off, what is your particular application???

If you want people to take time to answer your question and offer potential solutions to your problem at hand, then at least take the time to properly explain what you are trying to accomplish.

This will also allow the members of this forum to adequately evaluate your problem and provide the best possible solution to your issue.

Simply an igbt zvs driver. The igbts are rated at 600 volts and 200 amps. And will probably be consuming 3kw.

well said!

he may not need a variac or resistive divider, but I wont explicitly state the solution, becuase then he wont learn.

And you are driving what (load) exactly?

Why not run the full 300V? If you have 600V IGBTs, they can surely handle switching a 300V bus.

Because with the zvs driver. The mosfet/igbt you use must have 4 times the input voltage rating. Just to be on the safe side. And i will be driving a flyback ofcourse. Maybe an ancient ac one too.

How about connecting a resistance or a reactance in series with the
AC line feeding your rectifier ? If your load is 20 Amps DC at 150 Volts.
You will need 7.5 ohm resistor rated at 3 kW. for a full wave rectifier.

Four old toasters might do but if they are pop-up types, buy bread. cheesey

I said. I was very lucky to get a 40 watt resistor. A 3kw resistor is IMPOSSIBLE to find. Hope i made my point clear.

Please don't... all this talk of 6kW with 50% efficiency is really hurting me inside angry
