Do the same sums for your GDT to determine MINMUM number of primary turns required.
e.g. 6mm x 6mm core at 0.2T peak = 7.2 uWb +/- 12V at 30 kHz = 12 /(2 x 30000) = 200 uV.s so Np = 28 turns
For power ferrites you could go up to 0.45T IF the core is kept cool (12 turns) 0.35T if the core heats up (16 turns)
but 0.2T is good at 30 kHz I use 0.1T @ 100 kHz for low core dissipation (continuous) to 0.2T @ 100 kHz for high core dissipation (intermittent) decreasing by 1/F above 100 kHz not precise but a good guide.

sulaiman what book would you recommend for this area of study? Try Kraus and Fleisch Electromagnetics with Applications. It's a good introductory text with lots of practical problems. Kraus is famous for inventing the helical antenna (among other stuff)...
Electromagnetism is poorly/rarely taught because most teachers don't really understand it,
This is unfortunately true. Let it be said that it is not an easy subject either to learn or to teach (having done both). This does not mean that it is not useful or that we shouldn't try to understand it. Nearly 150 years after Maxwell and new ways of solving his famous equations are still being found...
