Well, there are still quite a few 'problems' with the 'Standard Model'. It does seem a bit far fetched to me to just 'invent' something which can't be detected, and claim that most of the universe is made of this 'imaginary stuff' in order to 'prop up' a theory that obviously has other flaws as well.
Another subject that came up recently is the 'apparently' spontaneous pole reversal that occurs every so often. It seems obvious to me from basic electric motor theory that what is effectively a magnet won't just 'flip over' without an external electro-magnetic field acting upon it (we all know that here), yet it's widely believed that it just 'happens' for no reason.
