Uranium glass decanter huh... exotic stuff...hehe.

They just recently "Allowed" us yanks to have Absinthe with wormwood, so I was going to go pick up a bottle to try. Never had the stuff, so I thought might be interesting.

Favorite so far: Jack Daniels Monogram, no longer sold, not availabe. It was really good! Had to be re-imported from Japan because it's for sale over there only.

Still looking for a suitable straight drinking whiskey.

Other than that, Coke is a definate.

In mixed drinks my favorite varies over time but the Manhattan is always near the top.

Other top mixed drinks would be the Brandy Alexander, Hot Toddy which I like to do with chamomile tea, and the Martini. Obviously when I say Martini I refer to a stirred gin martini with plenty of vermouth :P

Another one that I like is a recipe of my own design that I call the Daydreamer, which uses gin, Cointreau, simple syrup, mint, lime juice, orange bitters, rose flower water, coconut water, and tonic water. Obviously it's a bit of trouble to make but it can be fun to make especially with fresh coconut water.

If I'm drinking straight liquor then whiskey, especially Scotch is my first choice. I mostly drink Glenfiddich because it's affordable but good.

In the non-alcoholic beverage world I enjoy a good ginger beer.

Great question for someone who has just gotten back from a drinking session with the bro's cheesey

My all time favourite is apple vodka (the stronger the better), got lots of memories with this stuff!

However that is usually drank on nights out or at party's. So my favourite cheap and cheerful alcoholic beverage would be strongbow cider. I generally drink this stuff everyday as it helps to relax.

Favourite non alcohol drink would be English tea.

@Hazmatt_(The Underdog) I too have always wanted to try absinthe, although for me the higher (70%) stuff is the main reason.

Guinness! I can't get enough of it and its related merch.

My favourite non-alcoholic drink is vanilla coke, its not shipped to Canada any more so I have a hard time getting a hold of it.

Strong beer. I'm rubbish at portion control (had too many nights where I lose count, followed by losing my supper), but I can count to one. One tin, or bottle, and then no more. Tennents Super is about right, and tastes remarkably good, 500ml of 9% just about hits the spot.

There is only one whisky for me, Lagavulin, an Islay single malt. It tastes 'toolsheddy'. Have you ever been into an 'old boys' tool shed, the mix of aromas of slightly damp timber, rusty steel tools, and 3-in-One oil. Maybe difficult to imagine that being a plus point until you've tried it.

Gin'n'tonic, with ice and lemon. I only ever drink this in one specific situation, and that's on the initial climb out of the airport. I don't want to drink anything too dilute like beer or wine under those circumstances (don't need too many trips to the woefully under-provisioned bogs), and they only have rubbish blended whisky.
