It does not work ash. And zak. That does not work too. I am pretty sure this is due to the capacitor insulating is bad. But even a pvc pipe cannot insulate that. i tried it. Any other ideas if you please :3

70kV peak 25khz is kind of a lot to be asking from a simple homemade capacitor out of PET. You might want to try to go with a number of clean beer bottles filled with salt water sunk in a 5 gallon bucket also filled with salt water. Cover the surface of the water with mineral oil and try it again. In my experience it seems 1 beer bottle filled up to the neck = ~1.0 nF so adjust accordingly.
Doubt that is the actual problem, but at the same time it might decrease losses in the capacitor and make your coil more efficient?

Thats the geek group bucket capacitor -_-.. it is not 70 kv. it is like 40 to 50
I was under the impression that your flyback is being driven at 50 rms which would make a 70 peak. But 50 is still a lot to be putting through such a thin insulator. When I was messing around I noticed that I could pull a considerable amount of corona through a soda bottle using only a 15kV NST, I can only imagine 50kV being worse.

I got the spark gap to fire with a flyback that contains a internal capacitor. That fried though. And the flyback is now much weaker. And puts out ALOT ALOT ALOT of current. :/ life hates me. tho that flyback was giving poor results :/.. But hey. what ya gonna do. so now i KNOW that the flyback's high frequency high voltage needs a capacitor that fits that..Any idea.?? I don't want some large bucket capacitor ideas. This was meant to be a MINI TESLA COIL just a material that could resist that. I tried about 10 layers of paper. and lots of tape. it ate through that. Thick glass plus 3 acrylic sheets. Ate through that. no problem. there are 2 ideas in my brain.
Stacking up alot of soda bottles. i have only 5 bottles. and 4 did not seem to be enough. the 6th one tho. is a 2 liters bottle. I may do it. the second idea. Is to make a sheet capacitor.. Some really thick insulation. thickest i could find. I would go and buy a super thick plate of glass. Put lots of electrial tape acrylic sheets. paper everything. And then put it in oil.. With the foil on the outer layer. And i doubt that 'd work :( what can i do. That thing makes a arc THROUGH THICK GLASS.

It sounds to me like it's the internal diode that blew. If you'd put a resistor on the output it would probably have saved it.
If the gap fired, the capacitor MUST be ok.
I'll repeat what I said earlier, put a decent diode and resistor on the output of the flyback. The capacitor will only charge to the voltage required to 'jump the gap', so start with a small gap, then go bigger once it is sparking.
