The thing that annoys me most on youtube videos is people getting these things mixed up: Coil Guns, Rail Guns and Gauss Guns
The video link in OP includes a caption or early comment by Mehdi, in which he corrects his use of Rail Gun in the recording.
I do not accept that the name "Gauss Gun" or the oxymoronic name "Gauss Rifle" are reserved for coilguns or for contraptions of permanent magnets and ball bearings. Internet searches confirm that point of view.

Can you please expand on this statement, Rich.
Why couldn't an electromagnetic projectile accelerator based on principles formulated by Carl Gauss have a rifled barrel? Surely this would be more accurate, although the rifling would presumably adversely affect projectile velocity
EDIT: I'd concede that 'Gaussian rifle' may be more appropriate.
