your laser is a scientific laser, with a beam quality and characteristics valuable to scientific or holography use, and the fiber delivery appartus is surely worth more than one hundred dollars, and the laser itself, if single mode, will sell heaps

Worth noting is that while this laser is probably single transverse mode (ie, the beam has a gaussian shape referred to as TEM00) it is definitely not single longitudinal mode, and is not suitable for holography/interferometry/etc because the coherence length will only be a few inches.

Your best bet these days for selling it is to find someone who wants it for the sake that it is a gas laser and there aren't that many of them left in the world wink

From Wikipedia:
"The coherence length can be measured using a Michelson interferometer and is the optical path length difference of a self-interfering laser beam "

If the head has external mirrors (as opposed to mirrors glued to the glass) it can be converted to single longitudinal mode, with a etalon optic. Finding one might be a problem.

I see one on amazon:

But you should know, HESC is known not to have a very good reputation.
Dealing with him is usually a hit and miss deal.

he is a total ripper, except for ebay auctions (goodgadgets2u) for things like gratings, laser diode drivers, etc...

he is selling PS3 sled waveplates as "uniphase quarter waveplates" for something like $25... a shame

so is it worth selling it with the optics or to sell them seperately? I dont really have the money to try holography and i have a stronger ebay laser for projectors and stuff.

I know I am late to the party. I used to have one of those lasers, an old Omnichrome 532, now sold by Melles Griot. I have a ILT argon now that dumps out about 500mw all lines. Runs on 240.

Unfortunately the value of these small frame argons has dropped in the toilet with the advent of DPSS lasers, that old Omni is probably worth 200 to 300, even my ILT is maybe only worth a couple hundred more than that.

It is good for holography like others have said. But boy, do they suck power.
