i now have all the original OS and App disks on DVD. 12USD w/2 day shipping from HP.

as my laptop doesnt have an dvd/cd drive, ive tried to write a 7.5ish GB iso file to a 14GB usb drive, and enable boot from USB in the bios.

Yet i get a "missing operating system" right after the initial splash screen. what am i doing wrong?

"Missing Operating System" usually means that the MBR is damaged or the computer cannot read the boot drive. The first can also point to a bad drive.

Also did you remove the USB drive from the computer?

You didn't really need the official install disks ... just get a regular win7 install iso and use the license key from the bottom of your laptop.

Google for digital river windows7 iso

i need the HP and verizon special apps that run all my integrated crap, like my cell phone internet connection.

i still cannot get an .iso to complete, using the microsoft dvd-usb program, they all get to 99% then the MS tool says sorry check usb and iso .

im confident the problem is the crap markers in the .iso are not on the 2048 boundaries, so MS iso's work and others wont. i just cant figure this out, despite 3 different free iso programs...

source: Link2 and Link2

Link2 has the exact error "We were unable to copy your files. Please check your USB device and the selected ISO file and try again."

this problem is killing me, i need my small laptop, ive got serious work im already behind on...
