Hmm. 1500 * nuclear weapons is still a lot methinks.
Still, it shows that the USA is making progress, now lets hope the UK follows suit and decides not to renew Trident.

Sulaiman, you forgot Nuculer, hah!

I'd rather be dead really. The aftermath would be pure hell, and everything would be contaminated. Dying from the inside out would be a horrific way to go.

BBC documentary on Chernobyl:

The earth would recover eventually, but humans would likely be extinct. One must have profound respect for the people who knowingly walk into certain death to try and contain contamination.

The new stealth ICBM devices have a known shelf-life, and the cost of maintaining such useless stockpiles bankrupted more than one country.

Stories of the Sword of Damocles still ring true:

In my opinion, the ominous silence from space implies that if any other intelligent life evolved elsewhere it didn't last very long... Lets hope this doesen't happen to us.

@Conundrum
Some suggest intelligent life may have evolved enough sense to avoid human contact.

Its possible, it could also mean that the "Rare Earth" hypothesis is correct.
Alien intelligence may exist only on "Water Worlds" therefore forever unable to send signals or develop high technology unless they can build the equivalent of an underwater "air chamber" glovebox.

The fatalists have already given any hope of using what resources they possess
to alter the will of those who would start the war. Recent history has shown the terrible
consequences of this.
