I dont really see why id need flow/ speed control, surely you want it just on and off full speed/ no water flowing? i have considered buying a aluminium block and getting it milled by the company i did work experiance for.

Depending on the size of the block, you don't need any milling done.
You just need a drill, preferably a pillar drill.
You can either drill holes all the way through, then drill in from the end to join them together, and use blanking plugs to block the unwanted holes (after tapping them), or just drill several holes, and fit fittings to each one (after tapping the holes).
(I can draw a diagram if it will help)
The local plumbing shop will have plenty of fittings to choose from.

I think i may buy 2 blocks of 10mm*100mm*100mm aluminium off ebay and mill each one with a washer around the outside of it for water-tightness, this could work well because our collage has a amazing metalwork facility (2 metal lathes, a bandsaw, a CNC and non-CNC mill, a CNC lathe along with sheet cutter and bender ect ect.)
for the pumps im kinda thinking for the most Gallons per hour to cost. ive got a perfect space in my desk to place the water cooling system under, i could then cut out a space above it and mount the cooler directly onto it with a swich above it. Once i have the desk screwed down and the cabinets in im going to run ducting and install my variac into the desk along with logic power supplys and such, ive got a cabinet in the corner for my transformers and control relays for the desk (its gonna have a quite large amount of equipment/powersupplys ect built into it)
