First time I've ever seen a package like that. Is it electrically symmetric, with two identical disks? Does each disk have a metal coating on each side? My bet is that you have MOV's or related circuit protector devices. Or maybe PTC thermistors as used in motor starters.

I've seen so many of those thingies inside of TV's, and I've always wondered what they were. It's usually two of those metal disc thingies clamped together...

I usually see them in little black boxes, but yea, it's probably a thermistor. check the resistance from face to face and then heat it up a little and see if it changes.

PTC, and this one seems to be close to the one used in early 90s philips TV sets... I have also seen similar ones with asymmetric coatings, maybe it had been repaired and some disks replaced

I can too confirm that these components are PTC thermistors (either as a limiter for the initial in - rush current of the SMPS or as a screen degaussing switch). I have opened a lot of these and used the thermistor elements as cheapo temperature sensors.

As PSCG says, it is a dual thermistor from a TV set. One side is a NTC inrush limiter for the power supply, the other side is a PTC to taper off the current through the degaussing coil.
