Thanks!
That tube is krypton-air mix (one of the early experiments), at pressures lower than I usually use for heavy gases. I've tried to replicate it later, but all new versions are of more blueish color, and the dots seem to move more rapidly.
Frequency is everywhere about 800 kHz, I usually test all plasmaballs on one single micro SSTC with known power input.

Dropped the price for most the balls available :) now you can get one for less than 100$, including shipping!
Also introducing three new colors: blue-white xenon, cold violet-turquoise xenon, and bright warm red-blue neon.
By the way, I discovered that the balls can be run from a simple flyback transformer. The only you need is the working HV curcuit of 30+ kHz (the more is better) and 15+ kVAC, and a piece of aluminium foil around the ball's neck.

Yeah, from the beginning of December, when I'll be having a reload of monthly free listings. You can also PM me to discuss the balls outside the eBay and it's fees ;)

Those are really beautful!!! Why do you think the Krypton one has all those weird dots? Is it because of the nature of the gas, or due to the hv driver?

Definately interested in purchasing a few! Thanks for sharing!

That seems to be a combo of krypton's own properties and the driver. Same dots in a weaker form can be seen from Ar and Xe. I've also seen a video where those dots appeared in a light sculpture of 10-20" large, and they were of green color. I wonder how that was done..

I came across some interesting information and history about plasma globes:

http://www.vincelewis.net/plasmaball.html

I Thought I would post this here, some of the gases with the color effects they produce. I dont know how accurate they are though...

Helium (He) Produces a very bright blue-purple Plasma stream.

Neon (Ne) Produces a really bright red & orange although blurred effect plasma stream with bright pink & orange color at the ends.

Xenon (Xe) On its own produces quite a dim and unexciting bluish white or bluish grey color.

Krypton (Kr) On its own produces quite a dim and thin white with pale blue hue plasma stream.

Carbon Dioxide (Co2) Produces quite a bright glow a whitish or blue-white color.

Nitrogen (N2) Produces quite a bright whitish pink with a blue-purple tinge.

Argon (Ar) The plasma stream produced from Argon is a nice violet-lavender mixed with blue tinges at the ends.
