It's pretty rare for any state to tell the truth about things. The "war on terror" is a case in point.
I predict a massive increase in speculation.

That seems to be a fair description.

I think you guys can be happier now because democracy will not survive for much longer with these views and attitudes. Then you can say you were right all along, and we will all learn Arabic.

The only way Democracy "Will Not Survive" is if WE give it up. Al Queada is going to conqure the USA? We'll all have to learn Arabic because if it? If that's what you're refering to... I'm afraid it doesn't make much sense. Terrorists can't conqure anything; they can just make you very, very afraid. That's all they can do; they do this because they don't have any 'real' military capabilities. They can't take us in a fair fight, and they know it, so they try and induce terror in our population. Hence the name: terror-ist.
The sad thing is is how well it's been working on certain folks.
Now, my post will probably be deleted for including this, but it's a quote from John Rodgers at Kung Fu Monkey which seems to show just how well the Terrorists have accomplished their goals-- with the help of OUR governments.

"FDR: Oh, I'm sorry, was wiping out our entire Pacific fleet supposed to intimidate us? We have nothing to fear but fear itself, and right now we're coming to kick your ass with brand new destroyers riveted by waitresses. How's that going to feel?

CHURCHILL: Yeah, you keep bombing us. We'll be in the pub, flipping you off. I'm slapping Rolls-Royce engines into untested flying coffins to knock you out of the skies, and then I'm sending angry Welshmen to burn your country from the Rhine to the Polish border.

US, NOW: BE AFRAID!! Oh God, the Brown Bad people could strike any moment! They could strike ... NOW!! AHHHH. Okay, how about .. NOW!! AAGAGAHAHAHHAG! Quick, do whatever we tell you, and believe whatever we tell you, or YOU WILL BE KILLED BY BROWN PEOPLE!! PUT DOWN THAT SIPPY CUP!!"

Not 100% historically accurate-- the entire US Pacific Fleet was not destroyed at Pearl Harbour, but it dramatically gets the point across. The only way to win the War on Terror is to not be afraid. The brave men and women on United Flight 93 won a more decisive victory in the War on Terror than the combined might of the US and her allies in Afganistan and Iraq will ever be able to. They proved Bin Laden and his wing of Radical Islam wrong-- the West isn't weak; we aren't morally corrupt and wholly spineless. When push comes to shove, ordinary Americans can and will stand up for themseves. We CAN refuse to be afraid. Doing that, we take away their greatest weapon, the only one in the arsenal of Radical Islam that has any chance of harming our freedom.

I appologise if this post is overly political or hits too hard against certain people's sensibilties. I appologize to the modeators if they are forced to take action, but I hope that nothing here said is so inflamitory to require it.

1. Terrorists don't and will never fight 'fair' There is no such, and never will be. No one who attempts to fight a 'fair' fight ever wins. This is pure foolishness.

2. This is a war of ideas. They think they're right by wanting to wipe "The Great Satan" off the face of the earth. Well, I want to live, but the E.U. wants to cave into these people, and we just caved into terrorism by signing on with the "Peace Resolution" that allows Hezbollah to survive to fight another day.
So now that the U.S. has caved into World Opinion, we condone terrorism just like the rest of them. How nice. Terrorists have won here.

3. Ignoring what terrorists do in their own backyard allows them to grow and spread to diverse parts of the world. This is how things get worse, period.
