hi all,

I just want to know if this Epcos B32654A7734K (330nf / 1250VDC) capacitor will work on my DRSSTC with Fres Pri: 70Khz, ON time: 200us, BPS: 200. I cannot find the Irms current rating of these capacitors and so the dv/dt rating, and the ESR ESL, -base on the datasheet, its blank.

I am planning on inputting 1.2KW power to my coil with primary current up to 1KA, I wish you could give me ballpark so that I can know my limits.. thanks in advance

I think the caps should work, is the lead spacing 27.5 or 37.5 mm? The datasheet strangely states much lower dv/dt for the wider lead spacing. For 27.5mm it is 500V/us, which equals to 165A pulse current through 1 capacitor. This may seem rather low. However I think the caps will survive more, I have just rarely seen polypropylene caps fail in a DRSSTC duty...

So you think i should buy a reel of these caps?? They are not expensive rather. Thanks
