Assuming your inputs are valid, JAVATC should finish the calcs in less than a minute.

What browser are you using, with what opereating system? This is a fairly modern PC, right?

Is your browser showing any kind of error message, or asking you about running a script?

-_- I'm assuming my fields aren't input right then. Cause My computer is top of the line. (I'm a web designer)

no errors or nothing

But I'm not sure how I input the fields wrong. I guess ill go back and look again.

The info I put in.

Secondary coil.

Radius 1 and 2 = 2.25"
Height 1= 40" Lowest winding of secondary coil to the floor.
Height 2= 59.25"
Turns= 1213 I measured how many turns was in 1 inch * 19.25
Wire Dia.= 26 AWG Copper wire

Primary Coil

Radius 1(ID)= 3.25"
Radius 2(OD)= 10.5"
Height 1= .25 I'm assuming. The copper tubing is 1/4 thick
Height 2= .25 Same as above
Wire Dia.= .25 copper round Im assuming again. Copper tubing is 1/4 thick

Topload

Minor= 9"
Major= 15"
Height= 64.5" Which as far as I know is from the ground to the top of the toriod.

What did I miss?

Dude, THINK!

Look at the values you used for your secondary "height" parameters #1 and #2. They are the height of the lowest and highest turns, relative to the ground plane, right? 40" and 59.25", corresponding to a winding length of 19.5".

Now look at the primary height values you came up with: 1/4" above the ground plane??

I don't think so.

Just looking at your photos, I'd guess that your primary heights #1 and #2 are much closer to 38" than to 1/4".

Did you click on the question mark at the left of the primary section to get a concise explanation of what inputs you need to make? The illustrations of the flat Archimedes spiral coil are pretty clear, and show you exactly how H1 and H2 are measured.

Same thing goes for your toroid "height" parameter. The "explanation" page for the topload section clearly shows that the toroid height is the distance from the ground plane to the CENTERLINE of the toroid, not the top of the toroid. Not rocket science, just read the simple instructions. For JAVATC to provide useful output data, the input data has to be accurate. Garbage in = garbage out, right?

I guess I missed that one, sorry. Been a long day

Its 38.75 and 39.

I did change that and It still seems to not be calculating.

Don't know what the root cause of your JAVATC problem is, but if you'll post ALL of your coils parameters, in the sequence listed in JAVATC, I'll run the report and post the results here.

But, you really need to find out why JAVATC doesn't seem to run on your PC. Going forward, as you tune and modify your coil to improve performance, you'll need JAVATC to help analyze the new configurations.

Your topload values are wrong. You can't have a topload with a 9" diameter ring that fits within a 15" overall diameter. The ring diameter has to be less than 1/2 the overall diameter, think about it.

I use TeslaMap for quick/rough estimates and with your data (minus topload) I get ~275kHz resonant frequency for the secondary. If you post your NST ratings and MMC cap size I can run the rest of the program for you.

Similarly, you could post the missing info and we can run javaTC for you and report the results, but you need to fix your measurements.

Ill have to see why it doesn't run on here, Cause its not loading up anything at all. Ill be trying on a different computer today here at work to see if it works.

As far at the toroid, I see what you mean now. I was think the minor dia was just the inside of the toroid.

But the minor should be 3". Thats the thickness of the aluminum ducting I used. and then the OD is 15"

My NST is rated for 12kv 30ma.

The MMC is rated at 9.3 nf at 32,0000 volts

Okay, good news, Got the Secondary information to work.
Its the primary thats holding it up so Ill come back to that in a few.

SECONDARY COIL OUTPUT DATA

Secondary Resonant Frequency= 311.9 kHz

Angle of Secondary= 90 deg*

Length of Winding= 19.25"

Turns Per Unit= 63

Space Between Turns (e/e)= -0.00007 inch

Length of Wire= 1429ft

H/D Aspect Ratio 4.28 :1

DC Resistance= 57.8493 Ohms

Reactance at Resonance= 61083 Ohms

Weight of Wire= 1.1 lbs

Effective Series Inductance-Les= 31.146 mH

Equivalent Energy Inductance-Lee= 33.123 mH

Low Frequency Inductance-Ldc= 35.384 mH

Effective Shunt Capacitance-Ces= 8.36 pF

Equivalent Energy Capacitance-Cee= 7.861 pF

Low Frequency Capacitance-Cdc= 15.084 pF

Topload Effective Capacitance= 0 pF

Skin Depth= 4.94 mils

Fraga AC Resistance= 245.7419 Ohms

Secondary Q= 248

Got Primary info.

Angle of Primary= 2 deg*
DC Resistance= 5.25 mOhms
Average Space Between Turns (e/e)= 0.203 inch
Primary Inductance-Ldc= 67.962 uH

That's the only info it gave me for the Primary.

So i got the information to work in that program you mentioned.

What do I need to do with it now?

Also I got that new spark gap made. The RQ gap and will be installing it tomorrow on my coil.

Kinda excited to see how it works.

What exactly is the pro's of using this gap instead of the tungsten rods I was using?
