I know what we are trying to do, but im not going to take it out fo the box, I can just test the NST in the cabinet,
I dont have another cable to connect the NST and no point in buying one. Ive got everything I need to do right there. It would be more work to take the NST out of the cabinet than to just carry the cabinet over to my grounding rod and connect it up right there like I was planning on doing in the first place.
If I was to remove the NST, I would have to remove the toroid, then the secondary coil, then the promontory coil and then will be able to unbolt the NST. Thats why I want to use the grounding rod.
But I know what to do. Take each side of the NST and either put in right next to the NST to see if its got a spark or take both ends to put them together to make a spark.
After that,I test the spark gap by connecting each lead of the NST to it and seeing if it sparks.
1/2w 10m is the resistor
