For one, college and degrees aren't everything. They may help you get your foot in the door for that very first job, but i think the whole college experience is way overprice and overrated. Plus college graduates nowadays are lucky to find even a job at the local Walmart given the poor state of the economy (at least here in the states)
That said, i think one other avenue you should look at is going into business yourself. If you have a talent and can capitilize on it, then go for it. There are lots of opportunities out there for creating small business and in the US there are lots of grants available for helping small business as well.
