I do first. First thing that came to mind when I saw the subject of the post was: finally someone else here who does it! As far as I can tell it is just you, me and Eric goodchild who is now in college. I am actually captain of my team here in massachusetts. 2262. Unfortunatly in years previous we haven't done so well, but in my freshman year we placed 7th in the eliminations after holding first for considerable time in the qualification rounds.
I would be interested as well to how many people here do or did first at some point. Maybe no the hv part, but 4hv seems like a place where our sort to be hanging around.

I'm heavily involved in our schools first Lego leuge team. Unfortunately we are to young to be part of the FFC competitions. Last year we came second in our regionals :D
Cool I wasn't shore what to expect when I made that post was enyone following the dual down under my team was the first to reach first place on day two most of the rounds we lost were due to technical problems. The first problem wa had wad Somone wasn't keeping en eye on the battery the second was a problem with our wheels and the third was when the pin that connects the belt to the drive motor broke but they were all miner problems. We were able to hold second place right throw the quolifier rounds and in the finals our alince won mi team also won the quality aworde.
Here are some more pictures (sorry for some reason since I upgraded my Android I cant post actual pics) ]imag0716.jpg[/file] this is the other team in our alince and their robot ]imag0713.jpg[/file] ]imag0621.jpg[/file] if your wondering whats in the boxes that's how our robot got from Hobart to Sydney on the plane I will post more pics when I get them I wasn't able to get a lot myself because I running the cannon (the judge's Nike named it the Tasmanian tower of terror)

From my experience, FRC is a 'competition' where students are given a kit of largely boring/over;y complicated parts and are told to build a robot, all the time following a myriad of innovation-limiting rules.
The team with the most money / supervising engineers tends to win.

Most of what you just said is true but what's not fun about getting a kit of parts and being told to build a robot to compete in a cool competition?
BTW we had the simplest robot in the competition and not a lot experience but we still won
