Browsing an Ebay stores items and came across -this-

Is there any point behind the oil or is it just another marketing trick? There are similar cables in the store that go down to $9.90, so I don't it...

"These cables use 1mm low-loss core, low-jitter synthetic fiber and heavy metal connectors to dampen vibration, giving you the ultimate listening experience."

I agree that all of the above mentioned gadgets etc. are technobabble,
BUT
I guarantee you that if you have friends around to listen to your Hi-Fi
and then bring out a 'special' cable (any .. power, speaker, interconnect etc.)
handling it with great care as it's vale requires, and install this 'magic' cable
explaining what aspect of the sound will be improved (e.g. 'clarity')
your friends WILL hear an improvement.

even though the 'magic' cable is quite ordinary or deliberately worse than your original.
Try it with friends or family - it works. (Psycho-acoustics)

Oh yes, the audiophile world is chock full of gullible twits, and shysters happy to take their money off them. My favorites are a $400 wooden volume knob with 'special' varnish, and an $80 orange plastic square touted as some kind of magic 'conditioner' for your CD's. I could make a fortune off these clowns, if I had no morals.
The 'New Age' health industry is not much better.
