Your work is really incredible and fun to look at!

Do you ever burn yourself with those arcs? They look extremely high power (like >50kW id guess!), and seems like it'd be very easy to burn you.

When you pulse it with the 5kJ cap bank, what is the limiting factor? Voltage of the cap bank? or some other component? Im asking... why cant you turn it up higher? smile.

hi Steve
Yes, there was one little burn:-D
this tesla coil, I gathered from boredom:-D
limiting factor in the performance of the capacitor bank, is a poor Settings (VTTC) coil ill
later I'll do that capacitor bank is fully discharged=)

vacuum tube powered by a capacitor bank tongue

It is visible on the video, that despite the coil can arc to the ground, it doesn't tends to arc to the primary.

But I don't understand why powering the tube with a capacitor bank helps in that (sorry for the noob question)

Something else, the coil has the typical 50Hz buzz of a half wave mains powered coil. Shouldn't it sound different when DC powered ?

(I don't think I have yet seen a DC powered VTTC, except plasma speakers setups, but they run at much higher frequency... so I'm not sure...)

capacitor bank at 5kJ smile
SPARK actually only 200-300J

How do you estimate sparks energy ?

later I will do, that would be in SPARK were all 5kJ amazed
effects was not completely smile
Please do !

The RF burns should make it too painful to touch long before it kills you. tongue

Hey im just curious about this and you seem too no a lot about vacuum tubes, would you be able to remove the secondary and use the primary as an induction heater? And would there have to be a few little mods to get it to work, and if so wat sort of mods would be required? :)

hi teravolt shades this vacuum tube lies at me on a regiment, it too powerful what to use it angry
you can include with success it in big tesla coil shades
The second grid needs to be included from the separate stabilized source wink

here vacuum tubes which I have amazed
