Hello fellow coilers, this is my first SGTC. It is powered by two 15kV/30mA neon sign transformers wired in parallel. The spark gap has 4 series tungsten electrodes quenched by a Dayton blower. The secondary has 904 turns of 24awg magnet wire and resonates aprox. 220 kHz MMC- 2 strings of 18 942c caps giving me .0175uf. Top load is a 4 x 18 aluminum toroid from amazing1.com
The terry filter is somewhat unique. There were some erratic arcs underneath the PCB boards where the components were soldered, after much trial and error I built a form out of plexiglass and filled it with oil for the TF to sit in. Problem solved. This coil was quite the project. It took roughly 4 months to build, that includes research and tinkering on and off. I recieved great help from Sigurthr and other forum members. Next up is a SSTC. Thanks all for looking!

This is my second spark gap teslacoil, it was built in 2011/12. Specs are: HVsupply: 2 MOTs with secondary's in series + voltage doubler (which also serves as capacitive ballast) Cap: home made rolled capacitor (3* ~75nF in series, measured 25.4nF) Sparkgap: Asynchronous, operating around 400bps Primary: 6mm copper tubing, 10 turns Secondary: 12.5*67cm form, 0,53mm wire ~1200 turns Toroid: 15*55cm + 8*35 aluminium duct (guessed, can't remember the exact dimensions)

Hello folks, after successfully completing my SGTC I decided move onto solid state components. First up is a half bridge with a voltage doubler for approximately 340VDC. Primarily I used designs provided by Sigurthr, a member here who has faithfully helped me through designing and troubleshooting. His USSTC driver has worked phenomenal as well. This coil has an output power of well over 1.4kW in CW mode and resonates with the top load capacitor at 222kHz. MOSFETS: 2x- FDL100N50F mount on 6x6" finned AL hs. Driver interrupted.
Full power & 25% power with xenon gas bulb.
The quest for a stand alone robust doubler circuit.
