This my version of Steve Wards SSTC5, meet the Kaizer SSTC I
Bridge 2x IRFP460s MOSFETs in a halfbridge configuration Bridge supply 0 - 230VAC from a variac, 8A rectifier bridge and 330uF smoothing capacitor Primary coil 115mm diameter, 1.78mm diameter isolated copper wire, 10 windings. Secondary coil 110mm diameter, 275mm long, 1000 windings, 0.25mm enamelled copper wire. Resonant frequency self tuning, but around 250 kHz. Topload 100mm small diameter, 240mm large diameter, toroid. Input power 1000W at 230VAC input voltage in CW mode. Spark length up to 250mm long sparks in interupted mode.
For more pictures and the construction details, read my article:

Rules for ** Add your Tesla coil here **
The rules for posting on this thread are on page one and are a bit different to other threads in 4HV. This is to allow a fairly consistent and brief approach to allow people to compare a large number of different coils.
A reminder: The 3 Rules to keep it consistent and readable: Each coil to have only 1 page of info (ie fits on your computer screen). Brief is best. Each coil to have only 2-3 photos (do not double post). Only coil details and photos to be posted. Direct any queries direct to the person or in a new thread.
A coil is defined by its secondary (change of toroid isn't a new coil) Enter as many coils as you wish. Beginners coils are welcome and this log is designed to be helpful for beginners.

Design based on Steve Wards Mini SSTC
Bridge 2x IRFP260s MOSFETs in a half bridge configuration supplied with 120vac and smoothed by 600uF capacitor. Secondary coil 3" diameter 9" tall and approx. 900 turns of 30awg wire Topload 6.5' inner diameter, 10' outer diameter, toroid Spark length approximately 7-8 inches Self tuning via antenna Can be audio modulated
My colorful driver
Moderate duty cycle and pulse rate with NaCl added to the breakout (1/10 second exposure)

First SSTC I ever built, second tesla coil I ever built. This coil runs very reliably and can be run indefinitely without parts overheating. Coil also has been audio modulated.
Coil stands about 3 feet tall full bridge of IRFP260 MOSFETS max spark length of about 15 inches 120v full/half rec mains secondary 18 x 4.5" 1800 turns primary 5 x 5" 6 turns
Bridge 4x W20NB50 MOSFETs in a bridge Bridge supply 0 - 220VAC from a variac,Half wave rectification, Primary coil 115mm diameter, 2.5mm diameter isolated copper wire, 18 windings. Secondary coil 110mm diameter, 275mm long, 1250 windings, 0.25mm enamelled copper wire. Resonant frequency self tuning, but around 350kHz. Topload 100mm small diameter, 240mm large diameter, toroid. Input power 150W at 220VAC input voltage in Half wave rectification mode. Spark length up to 180mm long

Hello Forumers
1st POST in this section...
here is my FIRST ever tesla coil.. dated AUGUST 2009
this is where it all started.. my ZVS driven Spark Gap Tesla Coil (SGTC).. not much of a performer though (lack of know-how) and pri LC tank cap keeps getting DEAD.. maximum spark length is 6"-7"...
here shown is the ZVS flyback driver.. using IRPF260... powered from 80VDC @ 8A (or so I remember)
the whole setup
and a short video of it.. topload is crumpled aluminum foil... closer to primary LC resonance...
