My bigger SSTC, I call him Mark II.
Halfbridge of IRFP450's and halfwave rectified 230V mains input. Input power around 1kW, streamers up to 30cm. Secondary resonant frequency is 260kHz with a 16cm x 5cm toroid.
Added some NaCl to the breakout point for the yellow spark.

My first (working) SSTC
Specs Driver: antenna feedback w/ start-up osc. Bridge: IRF740 halfbridge w/ halfwave rectification Primary: 12 turns on ~11cm plastic pipe Secondary: 8.5cm dia. 25cm winding length of unknown turns (0.17mm wire from old relay) Sparks: just below 20cm (8") maximum. This is as far as I dare to go with the little fets, next step is to double them up for more power (still cheaper than IRFP460's)
