This is the second DRSSTC that I made. It's built from the left over test circuit and bridge that I used while building my first DRSSTC. It has a 3.5"x10.5" secondary and 1.75"x3" toroid.

Here is my new Small DRSSTC. It took sometime to finish but it ended up very nice I think. The main objective I had when I set out to build this coil was I wanted something compact, small, and easy to use. My other coils must be run outside and take awhile to set up. With this coil all I need to do is plug it in and let her go! I built an interupter that allows me to adjust from 0usec ontime-200usec ontime in 2 turns, no heavy variac required. The coil measures 15" total from top of the toroid to the bottom of the stand.
Secondary form: 3.5" x 9" PVC
Winding length: 8"
Wire gauge: 32AWG
Topload: 8"x2" Info unlimited spun AL toroid
Loaded Fres: 240Khz
Switching Topology:halfbridge with voltage doubler
IGBT: HGTG30N60A4
Control Topology: Primary Current feedback with overcurrent protection
MMC: 70nF 3KV made up of (6) 47nF 1.5KV LCR WF serries caps
This was my first coil. 2 MOT supply- 4kv 10 microwave caps Static spark gap 6in. long, 2.5in. wide secondary.
Had some real trouble finding wire. I had to use wire off an old microwave fan motor, so it wasn't the best, but better than nothing.
Horrible spark gap timing- either wouldn't fire or wouldn't quench. Probably needed to have a rotary gap. Toroid was too big, but before I could test it with a smaller one (I regret to say...) I had to move it into storage. (sister knocked it over- broke some stuff.) Never got very good results- maybe 1/2 inch intermittent sparks off the toroid.
Currently working on a DC flyback coil- may audio modulate it. When I get the chance (and a variac and a lot more wire) I'll bring this one back to life. I have the means (and by means I mean MOTs) to make this one more powerful, but I need a better secondary before I will want to do that.

Here is my newest DRSSTC. Its an older one that I had been converting from a fullbridge of 40N60s to one Toshiba halfbridge module (brick). This coil uses Steve Ward's newest highside driver to soup up these slower bricks. The secondary form is 4.5" diameter PVC 20.5 inches long wound with 31AWG magnet wire The primary is 6 turns of .25" copper tubing wound in a vertical helix with .25" spacing between turns and a diameter of 9.5". The secondary plus topload have a measured Fres of 83Khz. My mmc is 5 strings of 2 serries .15uf 2kv CDE 942C caps giving .375uf 4kv. The coil runs beautifully and so far I have achieved 40" discharges to a strike target. I am sure there is more left and I plan on squeezing at least 3X secondary length out of it. You can read more about this coil on this thread here: http://4hv.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?6766

Here's my third DRSSTC. secondary...7 inch x 2 Toroid....6 x 1.75 inch (John Freau spun) primary.....2.9 inch wound with 12AWG wire 75 nf res. cap Total res. frequency according to JAVA TC calculator is 392 Khz full bridge of HGT1n40N60A4D's (yeah way over kill!) Steve Wards driver circuit with OCD Primary feedback LED bar graph peak driver and display Total height of coil.....13.5 inches

Here's my mini telsa coil, it's my first sparkgap. The secondary has a 2.5" by 13" coil form. It's using 32AWG wiring, so thats approximately 1580 turns of wire (counting insulation). This coil can produce up to 15" sparks. The transformer used is a 9kV 30mA NST. The top toriod is 3" by 9" and the little one is 1" by 6.5".

Heres my first coil, actually built last year, but slowly upgraded and tuned. Specs go as follows: 30 watts, 1kv 30ma, 2 CDE942's for the tank (series), taped at turn 2.5, and 1/8" tungsten rod for the gap. Best strike is 7".

This is a small Science Fair commercial Tesla coil which looks quite old and is in an exhibit in the Western Power World of Energy museum in Fremantle, Western Australia.
Couldn't really see any detail or get any further info.

This Tesla coil comes from the new travelling display from the Nikola Tesla museum in Belgrade. It visited Perth Western Australia as its first destination and will go on to Strasbourg, Wein, Vancouver and Paris. It is a very old style coil with glass plate caps and a serrated wheel gap. It wasn't a great performer despite the Serbian Orthodox blessing.
