Heh. I just bought Minecraft, purely for the electronics mod. Not sure if the resolution will be enough for circuit simulations of anything as complicated as a TC, but I suppose someone could do a third party bolt on which does the calculations to turn TC discharges into fast moving water, etc.
EDIT: PC now working again, would a very old dual core HP laptop do the job? It used to be a single core but I pimped the swine and upgraded its CPU, RAM,heatsink/fan and now it runs like a bat out of Hell despite being hobbled with Vista

Sorry for not noticing this reply earlier, I've bee a bit preoccupied recently. Even though it is old I figured I should provide an update on things.
The server is currently down right now. It hadn't seen a lot of activity, and I made a migration to a new facility. I still have all the data if people want to put it back up, but I have to go through all the plugins and server info to make sure everything is brought back up to date.
If I can get a volunteer(s), I can give them SSH and SCP access to the server now that it is no longer running on my new cloud deployment rather than a shared system in my environment. If people are interested, please PM me. Since SSH access is a privileged system, I am reserving this for established members of 4hv.
I would personally like to get this back up and running. I have been busy with work, classes, and senior design but my time is freeing up a bit so I can sit down and work on it.
If people have any suggested changes to the system, I am all ears. I will likely have to redo some stuff significantly since it has gotten so far out of date, and I know that some of my plugins are not maintains anymore and I need to find replacements.
I stopped playing on the server a while ago because it wasnt being updated and there was never anyone online but i am still happy to help. I have some experience running an mc server on linux with SSH and SCP so i can definitely help out there.
I think you could do without bukkit being a white list server you shouldn't need it for grief protection and i have discovered it can make the game really laggy if you have a slow connection.
It should even be possible to setup a creative build area using command blocks.

Sorry I've been so out of things recently with work (as a security consultant, I have gone from doing only software security to physical pen tests. A lot of fun, but very time consuming :)
I will get the server back together and PM you the information to login and work with it. I will include an entire backup of the old server.
I still think we should use bukkit, as I had plugins other than grief protection (this included things like World Edit for admins, a multiverse for experimenting without multiple servers, secure chests, etc etc.
I should have everything together in a day or two, this is my work's down week for me.
