Learn enough unix to get a BSD http/ftp server going

Wee. Have fun. *reccomends FBSD*

NetBSD is cool too, especially if you want to serve pages from your toaster.

I use FreeBSD on my computer.

I also recommend this page for some of the more advanced Unix topics.

Polyprojectitis? I've reached the point of despair. My project list is about three orders of magnitude bigger than my spare time allows. I wish I had more time.

Same here. Someone suggested digitising all my notes etc into Outlook, to optimise my workflow- might work now my tablet PC is working again.

Main problem is you really don't want a laptop anywhere near HV projects lol amazed

Paper doesen't have that problem.

Well I can scratch "learn BSD" off the list. It took 12 hours but I managed to make a functional http/ftp server.

sorry nick, this is just the begining. You can't just make a webserver and let it sit there, now that you have started you need to keep learning and making things better, more secure, faster, etc There is no stoping it now cheesey

I should point out that the top item on my list is now 'clean room' as I am down to about 8in^2 of desk space (well not counting my bed tongue ) and probably 2ft^2 of floor space angry

Depending on how evenly the rubble on your bench is spread, you could throw a hunk of plywood over it and start over. Sweep-it-under-the-rug theory, eh?

My project list is as follows:

Complete injector for mini rail gun (320j)
Machine new nozzle for my 1/4" r-candy motor
Home-made magnalium
Recycle my scrap metal, cast scrap gold to a tiny ingot

Not much, but enough to tide me over.

Gee, and I thought I bite off more than I can chew... or maybe it's just that I keep biting off only a few large projects that are woefully beyond me. No particular order.
- Get laptop oscilloscope working with xscope
- With scope, resume Sonoluminescence project
- Use 8' satalite dish in g/f's back yard as radio telescope.
- Make Flame Fusion saphires, cut them gem-like
- Impressive HV display from junk box parts (VTTC?)
- Nixie Clocks
- Fix computer

... and more! Those are just the ones I'm actively playing with right now/which I've parts on hand.
