Just a pedantic point... It's not RAM unless the computer also had a way of telling Gren which switches it wants flipped. smile

True, but this is just semantics smile

I am intrigued into what this is for already. I am always drawn to crazy numbers of things. I even went to a bank and asked for 10,000 pennies after seeing the "may I have 10,000 marbles please?" scene from Animal House.

As for the soldering, good luck managing that rat's nest. If you plan it out it shouldn't be too bad. Please do post pics!

I'd order them from digikey or mouser, not surplus but you'll get a great price break ordering that many.

EDIT** go with the goldmine, I didn't realize it was a case of 700.
