You can scavange the copper from the back of an old fridge...not sure if that helps. It depends on how much power you intend to dump through the primary, if it is a small coil then the housing wire will work.

The primary turns on a TC are usually not physically touching, so no insulation is required. When winding turns of insulated each next to other the insulation only has to stadt the volts per turn. The rating on the insulation is usually a wayyy smaller number than the breakdown voltage of the insulation and is chosen based on safety reasons. I have tested the insulation of a "1kV" rated wire for household wiring, to stand 40 kV DC without breaking down.

im not gonna reach 40KV! anyway now i got some caps with varied voltage ratings, should i add resistors when connecting them in series?1-600 2-400 lots of 250V caps:) thanks for all the help!
