I made my own ground outside my house, and I insulated the primary (as I'm so stupid I used bare wire, and the TC was wasting all power into the primary) and added a real tank cap consisting of MPP's caps, and output is about 80KV to a tiny bit of metal on a chicken stick , and 60KV to air.

Huh? looks like you need to move your primary away from the secondary (of course, we can't tell without the pics) - insulation won't help at all at those voltages and frequencies.

An insanely overcoupled primary is one of most common noob mistakes for some reason. Time to switch to a flat pancake primary ...

Well I've insulated the primary from the secondary with cardboard tube and it's pretty much OK now, the primary is wound like a circle.

Trust me - thin cardboard insulation like that will hardly be any help. If you insist on using a helical primary, make sure to have good 3-5cm of space between it and primary. Also raising the secondary so it begins somewhere around half of the primary would be a good idea too.

Hmm, woudn't that decrease the power because the oscillating field is further away?

I'mg doing it anyway, I can trust you lol.

I will try to get some varnish tomorrow, to insulate the secondary, also also a PC PSU.

Well, that's a most common misconception in newbie coiling as I said before :P

Even if there wasn't arcing between primary and secondary, lower coupling allows for slower notching of the primary current which allows the gap to quench on the first notch in a good design, minimizing the gap losses. Richie burnett's website has a lot more information on this if you're interested :)

Thank I'm reading his website!

Just trying to increase output, I'm on the prowl for a bigger PSU. I will try to get two PC PSU's and series those. Will beat my 65w PSU :)
