Have you got a wickes store near you? They sell all sorts of cables in my local store.
Usually domestic wiring is all single cored stuff. I guess you could try auto-repair shops as they might have car jumper cables that would be suited for high current.
Or what about paralleling up regular 13 amp flex? Sure it might be messy but if this just for a project then it might be an option.

you can use multiple strands of lower current wire and braid them/twist them together and tie the ends together. Just a thought, I did this for my 750 watt inverter in my car. I have not had a problem

Something like this?
It's 4 sq.mm 3 core flex cable, rated at 32A. Should be available from B&Q, Wickes etc as it's used for installing electric cookers amongst other things.
You might be able to get 6 or 10mm too if you look harder.
