University is usually different for many students... All too often "A" students who assume the old standards still apply become "C" students, and in the first year around 52% of students in some programs will fail.
Based on the information provided... you will likely need to focus on your math before entering a science or engineering faculty program. I would advise practicing your calculus and linear algebra everyday, and only use Matlab/Octave/Maple to check your answers. You could also audit these classes at a local college in the semester prior to entering University. Many "Tiger Moms" do this for their kids, and usually these students keep their scholarship status after year one.
* Don't be distracted by the "party" kids (binge drinkers score 15% less on exams ) * Form a study group with other focused students * Avoid fraternity house lodging * Live on campus as a commute will cost more in time and stability * Allocate a precise amount of time for clubs and other time wasters (2 hours/week), but avoid them several weeks before tests * Network with staff/teachers to find clubs in your area of interest * keep looking for bursaries and grants even if you don't need them in the current term
Don't buy the hype... Remember they are there to take as much of your money as possible... Focus ...and you will survive the marathon...

I am impressed by your ACT score. Your SAT scores are similar to mine. If I were you, I would just send the ACT score.
As for Carbon Rod's advice, I'm going to say that SAT math is a very poor representative of any math you're going to need in college. I got 5's on calculus AB and BC in high school but my SAT math scores were similar to yours, and I've been doing fine with every math course I've taken (I'm a college junior).
Oh wow. Hm... when I was in seventh grade, I got I think a 550 on math, 500 on reading, and 490 on writing. Now I have to wait two more years and see how much of a jump will I get after 4 years. I'm scared for the reading. My dream is to go to MIT. Wait. If my dream is to go to MIT... then I shouldn't be on forums when I have a chapter test in my AP Human Geography class tomorrow... contradictory statments, anyone? But still. If you get into MIT... POST IT!!!!!

... I feel stupid compared to Magnet...
Agreed, haha 25 on my SAT and a 3.3 gpa, nbd. However I do not think you have to be super smart to get into a good college. I've been accepted to all the colleges I have applied to (I think linking my youtube videos in my essays had a hand in that )

Go Purdue! Boiler Market has a pitcher+pie (pizza) deal for super cheap... I used to get shitfaced before Real Analysis.
... granted, I got a D in Real Analysis but in retrospect the things I learned getting bombed with friends were far more valuable to my development than understanding whether a set of all sets contains itself.
Also... nice scores... but seriously this thread is super douchey. You're allowed to be proud but come on man, have some class.

I remember when I was in your position, I had similar scores on my SAT and ACT, and great subject tests.
But I only used the ACT out of everything, as most colleges only need one (and if you're going to a science and math major, see if you can take the ACT without writing if you didn't avoid that already). Then on top of that not every subject test is accepted or if they are, they tend to be for lower versions of the course that are not meant for majors, but for general requirements.
Don't try to place out of too many classes is my word of caution. I placed out of four classes (six actually, but it took a year and a half to reevaluate my Physics credits due to a transcript error so I took one of them anyways). back to my point, if you place out of too many classes, then you start with the harder classes your first year that bog you down. As a "freshman," I took Calc III, and Differential Equations which was just a bit much maybe for my first year at college. While most of the engineering school has most students retain scholarships, those who get too far ahead are in more advanced classes earlier on and must retain an identical level of status and many fail to do so.
Just a few cents
-Jimmy
P.S: placing out of chemistry isn't a bad idea though, classes like those tend to be all weed out classes meant for identifying serious chem majors, and they are brutal for non-chemistry types.
