If you use two of the same mosfets, you CAN make a ZVS driver. You'll need two ultrafast diodes, two 10k ohm resistors, two 470 ohm resistors (they need to be around 2 watts), 2 12 to 18 volt zener diodes (anywhere in there will work) and a toroid.

If you keep insisting on building projects using parts you can get from a broken TV, you'll end up with frustration only! You need SG3525, a few resistors, diodes and a GDT (there might likely be one in the PS3 PSU). You can use a TL494 too, which you can pull from an old PC PSU, but you need to amplify it's outputs useng bjt totem poles. I think Uzzors or someone had a schematic around. . High voltage devices you have likely won't work for "ZVS" driver, though some IRFP260's or IRFP150's should work well enough. Hard to find a circuit simpler than that.

Although I've wanted yo use the transistor out of a TV t switch a flyback I just opened a very large colour TV intending to make a oscilloscope, but it's protected against removing the defection coils. So I thought discharge CRT, snip of flyback output and see some arcs, here is a video!
Excuse my messy bench, I clean it everyday but it's back to square one the amount of stuff I take apart and do lol. IRL the arcs look bigger.
When you pull to much current the TV shuts off for about 6 seconds, :(
O wonder if I could take the board out and run it, but I don;t see why it just don't work (The transistor) on it own, but I have tried them and 12v is not enough maybe mains?
I love flyback, but I still do not have a reliable driver :( I think if I take the driver out it'll cease to work.
