Bleh, I've driven a small 1.5Mhz coil with a half bridge of IRFP 450's without problems... it put out some 5cm or so arcs but arced over and blew up after a while.
You should try to do a few basic things first and get a breakout from your coil before going onto a mosfet buying rampage.

1. remove your "topload" 2. make sure phasing is correct 3. make sure your driver circuit even works
etc.
You'll probably want to use somewhat smaller number of primary turns later. If you can't get the driver circuit to work, you can try copying my direct-CT-to-UCC's scheme although I usually don't recommend it to anyone.
Heck, even antenna fed directly into UCC inputs might work.. it did for Steve ward, to some extent at least.

Umm do not use uzzors pll. I learnt this from the good people on the irc the hard way. its a very iffy curcuit and most likey wont achive phase lock (aparently, dont ask why) just build a fixed frequency occilator desine, much easyer (untill mine blew up :/ )

I'm still having issues...
Using the fairchild mosfet I linked, I kept killing them every time I went up to 50 volts input. I've tried using a halfbridge, and just a single switch style (pseudo class E operation) and they both die at 50 volts in... As shorts.
I'm not getting any breakout, either; but there are some oscillations, when running it at 30 volts in. Lit up neon bulbs and whatnot.
Still annoying as hell when you try several topologies and they all die.
I guess I'll bite the bullet and try true class E operation. The only thing that urks me about it though is it's tuning....Tune it wrong, and your mosfet could go boom.
