Dr. KV,

thank you so much for your help, I successfully managed to strike 25 inches streamers from my 10 inch coil,. I copied the schematic you posted then add some modification, thank you very much.. I used halfbridge of g4pc40u,. (I am thinking of using g4pc50ud then make it full bridge, I am currently not using OCD) ..

Just an observation, no criticism intented.

Many people seem to avoid the difficulty and cost of the GD IC's by making their own disrcete Transistor, diode, transformer drivers.

Yet you have spent more time, money and faced greater difficulty than had you just bought a GD IC though the mail.

Or am i wrong?
The advantage of the IC type is definate specs for predictable operation and ease of layout.

you are definitely right and also wrong sir, at first, when we decide to make tesla coil, we simply look for a challenge and a wide understanding for a new knowledge. =>that is one,

you are probably right for the ease of installation and predicability of its operation because of the datasheets. but not all switching devices can be operated by these UCCs.

When we design and implement N-P channel mosfets and transistors with diodes, we try to develop a more robust, more powerful and more reliable gate driver compared to the IC's capacity. And in my experience myself, I can tell that my design with the help of Dr. KV, can surpass the capacity of those precious ICs..

Actually, I do have UCC's and TC442X ICs available and ready to be mounted. But I dont like the idea of just relying on it. I'd like to design base on the available components locally and very common to electronic shops.

The only challenge here is to find a shop that sells a much more cheaper components. If I am to sum it up, The IC's are still much expensive due to the shipping price from another country to other and the IC is expensive itself. As for the lead time, Customs here in my country frequently holds the shipping process so this will cause delay a lot more.

As for the difficulty of implementing it, Its just a part of making a tesla coil so we dont mind it, It is better to understand every little inch of the circuitry rather than relying on the components we use but we don't know what's inside it, (can I redesign it?)

Thanks for your observation sir,

What results in my design with the help of Dr. KV, is a 3x ARC compared from my secondary coil. which is definitely good. I made a much smaller coil than the Minibrute, but the spark are almost approaching to it(33 inch vs my 10 inch coil).
