sounds interesting, so delta modulation being like bang-bang control with a fast feedback loop on your reference waveform? I always wondered if my LUT should be controlling the current or voltage waveform, but as half wave rectified mains produces sword like sparks and is a voltage source, I decided to just make the voltage follow the LUT (and have no feedback loop at all). Is the feedback in your system for voltage or current control?

I think that current control is of little use, as the primary circuit is close to a constant current sink, the regulation would be problematic and probably of no real significance. If you want to control output power, controlling the bridge voltage comes much closer than controlling the current.

so to see if i'm understanding this correctly, are we talking about modulating the H bridge's DC bus voltage, or the high frequency gate drive? ..or both in one thread?
After a quick read up on delta sigma, I can see how that modulation could be applied directly to the TC's gate drive, with the reference clock being syncronised to the TC's resonant frequency to maintain soft switching (and resonance!) although weak primary/secondary coupling would be necessary...
I originally mentioned current vs. voltage feedback because from my understanding, the TC is a non-linear load on the H bridge, so current wouldn't be proportional to spark size.
Assuming spark 'mass' or size is proportional to instantaneous power into the H bridge, wouldn't the best audio performance be obtained by multiplying the bridge voltage by input current and comparing that to the reference (audio input)?
I must start playing around again, it has been ages!
