1200 volt diodes are not Schottky. The highest voltage Schottky diodes I've seen were 200 volts and they had a huge reverse leakage current. Normally Schottky diodes are not rated over 100 volts.

"Since 2001 another important invention was presented by CREE (NC, USA): a silicon carbide (SiC) Schottky diode. SiC Schottky diodes have about 40 times lower reverse leakage current compared to silicon Schottky diodes. As of 2011, they are available from several manufacturers in variants up to 1700 V."

Hmm, I did some search and found this : Link2
You can see the SiC schottky diodes have a way too high forward voltage drop for this application.
It also seems that SiC diodes are not very common, I have never seen or used one in real life.

Fast 120A (2x60) 1200V diodes are common on ebay, I have a few of them and I kinda assume they are SiC

Not sure what they are suitable for.

Well I found it cheaper to buy some irfp260's than It would be to get screwed on some schottky diodes... NOW I CAN BUILD A FULL BRIDGE cheesey

how about a slightly more beefy FET, its not much more to get something like a IRFP4668, much less RDS on, as low a 8 milliohm Vs about 55 for the 260's , you pay a bit of a penalty on input capacitance, but I don't see that being a big issue,
all this is mute if you are getting a smoking deal for the 260's
