Ahh, cherry festival has just begun, and here are a couple of pictures from the airshow- it was really neat, we had the blue angels, an A10 thunderbolt, the Blue angels cargo plane, a p51, and another stunt plane. Here are some of the better pictures i took:

ahh, how come you get the blue angels out in the middle of nowhere when we here in Pasadena only get a b2 once a year
I can't find any pics, but we have a B2 and some escorts that change every year that flys right over our house at about 6:30am on Jan 1 for the rose parade... The whole house shakes

what do you mean "middle of nowhere" ? Our city has a population of ~40,000 in the whole county, and during the cherry festival, we have over 500,000 people come- usually more when the blue angels come- they come every other year. Its pretty a pretty sweet festival, I have seen footage from it on food TV occasionally as well. At one point in this years air show, the blue angel COULDN'T have been more than 25ft over the water- it was incredible!!! Last year, we had a stealth bomber come, that was really neat too.

By "rose parade" do you mean the Rosebowl? I was in a marching band for nearly 4 years and shortly after I left they decided to apply for the Rosebowl. Just curious...
What is involved in a cherry festival aside from the airshow? Cherry pie flinging contests? Cherry parades and cheery people? We have no cherry festival in my city.

Here is the site: There's lots of live music, contests, an amusement park thing, raffles, old people bingo , several running and biking races, cherry pit spit contests, eating contests, several parades, etc.

I was referring to the Tournament of Roses Parade, which happens about 5 hours before the Rose Bowl. It is the tradition that since you are all hungover after the new years celebration you wake up arround 11am and watch reruns of the rose parade until the rosebowl starts. It is supposed to be an important game, but recently it hasn't really mattered... Except last year where it decided the BCS championship; and was on the 4th
If all goes well I should be able to march in the rose parade next year holding the banner up for one of the floats in recognition of earned my Eagle Scout .

Congratulations (assuming all goes well). I was just recently at an Eagle ceremony honoring a friend of mine. It's quite an achievement.
