ISSTC is a kind of SSTC, SSTC+Interrupter =ISSTC.
anyway very often I see guys using the term "ISSTC".

lol so, most of the SSTC's are indeed ISSTCs...

I thought the ISSTC was a bit different from SSTC's because Steve Ward has a separed work about ISSTC's and the sparks are big:

Z0=sqrt(L/C)

Z0 is surge impedance, determines rate of current rise

An interrupter can be use on SSTC or DRSSTC but in DRSSTC the sole purpose is to limit the current from ringing up too high that the semiconductors blow. So, a tank with a higher Z0 will take longer on time to get high primary currents, so with a longer on time sparks tend to look more like SSTC sparks
